The Little Punk

Last week I had a dream that Finn was hurt in some kind of accident and throughout the whole dream I was bawling and bawling, just inconsolable. I woke up thinking, "Huh, I guess I really do love him."

A few days ago, we left the front door open for a second and the butt-nugget got out. He is usually scared of what is outside the front door, so we couldn't believe he just ran away. It was about 10 o' clock at night and we could only do so much searching. I was praying he would be okay and that he would find his way back. While Jordan was still out looking, we left the door cracked in case he decided the wild wasn't worth all the food we feed him. Which he did. All the sudden I heard his familiar purr-meow and I walk out to see him standing in the hall like, "What?"

Even though this guy drives me crazy half the time, I still like him. I've never been a big animal person. I don't get these deep emotional attachments with pets. I'll admit that I don't feel that deep connection with Finn. But he's still mine and I love him because he's part of our home. If anything bad happened to him, I would be crushed and feel awful. He is my responsibility and, by bringing him into our lives, I've promised to keep him safe. I feel an overwhelming need to fulfill that for him in all aspects.

Anyways, he made it up to us by howling nonstop the next morning at 6am til I came out and fed him. So, I guess you could say things are still normal.

  1. This is the prettiest set of photos. Love the second one especially! Makes me miss my kitty. I'm the exact same way with animals, but I've been studying abroad for over a month now and I'm surprised with how much I've missed having him around!

  2. Our cat, Henry, has done the same exact thing. Little rascal. But he always comes back; he's too much of a scaredy cat not too :)

  12. Finn is just a heartbreaker. Not a bad photogenic model, if I do say so myself. What a lil goof, springing emotional reflections on you in the dream world. This post made my day.
