Ode to Craigslist

I have been thoroughly disappointed in Grand Junction's (and the surrounding areas) Craigslist. I don't even understand people that don't use Craigslist. Maybe it's because they don't understand Craigslist. But there is a pretty decently sized college here so why are none of these students using it?!

Anyways, I still peruse it on occasion because I have hopes it will get better. We ( I ) have been casually looking for a new dresser since we moved because homeboy has very little room in our current dresser for his clothes. Yesterday I came upon this beauty by accident. I contacted the seller to ask the price while simultaneously texting Jordan at work to see if he got the same warm fuzzies about it. We all came to an agreement and arranged to pick it up the next day.

As you can see, everything went as planned and the beaut is the newest addition to our room. It's in such good condition too. It has a few scrapes and scuffs but overall I love it, I love it! Finn is obviously still deciding on his feelings about it.

I still think Colorado's western slope ads are really sad, but finding this piece softens the blow a little.

**I would just like to point out, if I had it my way our entire apartment would be painted white but our landlord said if we did we'd have to paint it back when we moved. Not worth it to me... so for now just ignore the green walls.**

  1. I am so jealous that you happened upon this stunning piece of furniture. You're really lucky man! I've been on the hunt for THE longest time for a dresser on the Colorado Springs craigslist to no avail! But sometimes I think beautiful second hand furniture like this finds its owners not the other way around :)

  2. that dresser is beautiful! what a lucky find. since moving here, i have pretty much given up on craigslist (selling & buying). i live between "western slope" & "high rockies" and never find anything good on either one!

  3. Those walls really aren't that bad. At least it's not some obnoxious color like lime! and that dresser is so perfect! I love the style, modern yet vintage. I love how we can turn vintage objects and give it a modern look without it looking like it belonged in our grandma's house! Love love love, also your sweet kitty!

  4. Ug, landlords are the worst. My apartment complex has colors we can choose from, and maintenance will come pain for us, but the colors are all these awful muddy autumn tones like what I feel like was super popular in the late 90's. And all I want is a charcoal colored dining room.

BUT you do have wood floors, and they're awesome.

  5. seriously beautiful. when we moved we sold a bunch of our furniture. i normally like to buy secondhand furniture because its cheaper and i like something with a story. however, i've been disappointed with my bay area finds, the prices may as well be from an overpriced furniture store. hopefully i'll luck out soon. i love this dresser, and it looks like its in great shape.

  6. I have been looking for a dresser exactly like this forever! Idaho's craigslist is just as disappointing and I hate it.

  16. Craigslist can be the best and the worst! When I was looking for a couch it took me about 4 months to find one in a style (and price!) I liked on craigslist, but when I found it, it was like my dream couch, and only cost $50! Glad to hear CL came through for you with this lovely dresser!

  17. you're changing my mind about craigslist, I've been very weary of it ever since I aaaaalmost got duped into a "babysitting job". the dresser does look wonderful. I'll have to develop an eye for it!

  18. It's perfect! I live in Australia and find it pretty hard to find nice furniture online too. I've been pretty lucky though, and had furnished my whole house with mid century pieces that were (for the most part), found for free during council collection weeks.
