Family Photos

Family photos have always kind of been my nemesis. I've probably been the most nervous about tackling family shoots in this photography adventure. It had been an awful long time since I'd had a chance to photograph a family as well. This precious family above was kind enough to be my guinea pig. They were so sweet to work with me and my scatterbrain. You can see the rest of my favorite images in my portfolio.

  1. It's like you read my mind! I understand if you don't have time to answer this, but I'm just getting started into photography and just did a huge group shoot last Saturday, and I found that on the really big group shots (that were of about 25 people), the people on the very edges were out of focus. Why does that happen?

  4. Oh, these are so sweet! Especially the last one, I'm sure that'll be blown up in their foyer for everyone to see :).

  5. I love these shots! What a cute family! I always have the fear of working with families. Its a whole new kind of crazy, I mean babies, children, but I think it could be fun. However, I'm not the best with kids, so we will see.

  6. I know what you mean! I've only just started on my photography adventure and I've thrown myself straight into the deep end with family shoots. So daunting but at the same time I find that working with families filled with so much love and therefore patience make taking their photos a breeze.

All the best in this endeavour. I look forward to seeing more of your family shoots :)

  8. i completely understand that nemesis feelin'. i'm always so nervous in anticipation of those shoots -- but, luckily, once i'm out on location & actually shooting, they're never as nerve-wracking as i thought they'd be. but still -- it's sometimes a lot of bodies to keep track of. and i think i'll always just feel more at ease working with couples. but you did such a lovely job! i can't wait to have you take photos for us someday.
