Cabin Life

...and a boat load of pictures of it.
Jordan has been wanting to go camping for months. I had been trying to convince him to stay in one of the many cabins on the Mesa. I am all for being outdoorsy but give me a real bed to sleep in at night. I finally convinced him and reserved a night for this week. When we got up there, we were pleasantly surprised to find they were upgrading us to a slightly bigger cabin because the one we reserved wasn't ready. Awesome. It was so cozy and fun.

I went with Jordan to watch him fish. He ended up catching three fish, one of which was my dinner and it was delicious. It was so nice to get away and disconnect. No internet or cell service. It was nice and quiet. We played scrabble and watched a few episodes of The Office on the laptop.

Unfortunately, I slept terribly. The bed was comfortable and the cabin was warm. But every little noise I heard I was convinced was either a bear or a murderer. Of course once I was too awake one of the new Miley songs I have had on repeat all week would creep back in my brain and I'd lay awake singing "My Darlin" over and over again.

When we woke up and looked outside, everything was white and only getting whiter. We decided not to stay for too long because driving in snow is the pits. We fishtailed pretty bad at one point but other than that we made it back safe. Overall it was so fun. I wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely be back.

  10. If you didn't put any words below the photos, I wouldn't think anything different than that place is domestic and cosy. The pictures are atmospheric and bland and you did it great!

  23. These photographs are absolutely stunning, Brie. I especially love the one of the cereal, tea, and comic book (Calvin and Hobbes, right?). I'd blow this up and put in my wall, if I could.
