I Love The Period Store

A good friend of Jordan and I, Ashley, started a business with her friend Rubi (also, someone I've had the pleasure of working with) called The Period Store. Have you heard of it? Because I'm in love. It's an online store to buy all your feminine products. They also send you medicine, chocolate, tea, and art. So brilliant, right? This is my second package from them. The chocolate might be my favorite part. Last month it was salted dark chocolate and I ate it all in one sitting. That should tell you something.

I was one of those girls that started my period before I was even in middle school. I think the most difficult part about that was not feeling like I had anyone my age that understood. I was often embarrassed by it and felt like it was something I had to hide or be ashamed of. We need to stick together as women and "Love what makes you ladies". Our cycles are part of that. How nice is it to be able to talk to other women about it? To know that you are normal and that other women experience the same things you do? This part of our lives is such a "hush, hush" topic which is unfortunate. I feel like The Period Store is a huge step in the direction of getting women to talk and understand their health better.

I can't say enough good things about these ladies and their new business. I am so excited to see where it goes. All you ladies need to check it out if you know what's good for you. The Period Store.

  4. that's really neat that you're sharing this on the ol' blerg. it IS such a hush-hush topic -- like, there are even code words for things if you need to mention it in public. it's empowering that you shared this & i'll definitely be looking into the shop. : )

And kudos to you for talking about the dot as I like to call it on such a public platform!

  11. i LOVE this idea! such a great way to make it something that connects us, rather that shames us. tea and chocolate just make everything better :)
i love how they offer so many different kinds--everyone's been talking about how cups are sooo much healthier for our bodies, so curious about them! thanks for sharing.

  19. What an awesome idea! I can't wait to check this out. I actually had the opposite problem -- I was a late bloomer and didn't start my period until right before high school. I think this is a step in the right direction -- more women need to be open about their womanhood and we need to bond more instead of bashing each other.
