Sketchbook//Journal

For the last few years I have enjoyed a more creative form of journaling. I found this book at goodwill a little while ago and decided to make it a new art journal. You can see my old one here. Sometimes I just put in things I like. Sometimes I write about things that are currently going on in my life. I just enjoy that it is a pressure-free way to create. It's just for me and no one else. I like that and I need it.

  1. What a killer journal! I am a writer so my journal is mostly written with maybe a few doodles in it but I am trying to reawaken my creative side and relearn how to be visual and really use my hands. I have been thinking of scrapbooking and doing a few paintings (maybe). We shall see but you have just given me a huge push! I love it!

  7. I have an art journal as well:)
I've been meaning to do a post on it.
Perhaps I will get around to it this month now that you've reminded me.

  8. I love that you turned the book into your journal. Great way to re-use and re-create. I have been wanting a sketch book lately, so maybe I can repurpose a book I already have, or go thrift one like you did. Thanks for the inspiration.

  9. that is beautiful! i really admire that you have a space where you let yourself do whatever you need to, creatively. i keep a handwritten journal (and have for...gulp...almost 10 years now), but sometimes i get too caught up in "rules" that i've invented for myself. which just leads to pressure and guilt. maybe i'll try to incorporate doing something like this!

  10. That's so great! I love how it's more of the impressions of the memories, rather than writing down every detail. And so colorful, too! Awesome idea!

  13. This is a great little journal you have here! I love that you are actually creating art in it. My journals are mostly ramblings and my sketchbook is full of lists of ideas for my blog and other projects.

    Thanks for sharing!

  17. How cute is that? I love the idea of having a journal to 'create' not just to write... Brilliant. And your creations couldn't be cuter - I would love to see more posts of whats inside! xo

  18. Your art journal is so sweet. I adore having a space to create without feeling as though I HAVE to write, a space to just be.
