This is the family cat. My dad got him last year. I don't think these pictures really portray how massive he is. He is definitely big enough to open doors on his own, he just hasn't figured that out. Needless to say I am just in awe of this cat. He is just really cool. He is, oh, so soft. The only disappointment is he doesn't like to cuddle. The only way you can get him to come to you is if you have treats. And then he will climb on your chest making it almost impossible to breathe under his weight.

My one cat, whose too old to care right now, used to do the same thing. He weighed 28 pounds and would always think that your chest was the best place to eat treats (and try to eat our food!)

Perhaps he just has a slightly aloof artistic temperament to go with a name like Hemingway :) I love these pictures...he actually looks quite independent and a little aloof in them.. like he sneers at other affection-seeking cats :) My husband had a similar cat a few years ago who not only mastered the art of opening doors but figured out how to open the fridge door as well for midnight feasts!
he looks so sweet! i have a big fat cat too, and she is mean and bites you if you try to pet her.

He is lovely. I have a six month old kitten that's the size of a full grown cat. He loves cuddles and struts around the house like he is the coolest. He has never jumped over the moon though ;)
