One Man's Trash

Do you guys ever take things that people leave for the garbage man? That is how we got our coffee table. And most recently, it's how we got this stand for our record player. Just added some handy dandy spray paint and good as new. It is missing a piece on the side but, oh well, it works for us. Actually, all thanks goes to Jordan for snatching this up. I knew I had truly converted his soul when I woke up one morning to find it sitting in our living room and a text saying, "I found it by the dumpster." Well done, well done.

  3. I always see things and think, "That would be gorgeous in mint green or lavender or something!", but I never think to spray paint. Thanks for inspiring me! :) Half it's beauty is in that beautiful antique green color.

  8. love it! and yes, i find things all the time. the things people throw out in nyc would literally blow your mind. perfectly wonderful pieces of furniture just tossed aside! my roommate is the best though, she's done her ENTIRE room in used stuff from flea markets, craigslist and the street. true talent.

  13. an embarrassing amount of stuff we own we found in the garbage: our dining table, a mustard lamp, some plates, that rhino head, some trunks and luggage, a bedside table, a dresser…uh, anyway, that's a tiny part of the list. but that record player stand is magnificent! i love the color you chose for it. and the story of how he left it for you is so sweet.
