iphoneography

I have become a big fan of iphone photography. I've been amazed at some incredible shots that people can get with just a little phone camera. I've also had a lot of fun experimenting. I get a lot of questions on Instagram about what apps I use. So I decided to share some of my favorites.
The number one app that I use to edit is VSCO CAM. It is my favorite. The filters are meant to look like film photography. There are also lots of other cool features you can play with such as fade and grain. The most recent editing app I've been enjoying is iDarkroom. I use it to get the exposed film look, or the streaks and highlights. iDarkroom has some pretty good filters as well. I recommend it. Sometimes I like to post normal sized photos on instagram, instead of the standard square. I do that with PicFrame. I am only using a fraction of what it can actually do though. There are lots of different frames and cool ways to collage photos as well. Lately I have enjoyed taking self portraits with my phone and I've been able to do a lot more with them by using the Photo Timer app. It is really simple and makes it possible to do so much more with your phone because you don't have to hold it!

Hopefully I introduced you to some new stuff. What are your favorite photo apps?

All of these are absolutely fantastic! Your quilt, your birthday card idea, your portraits--just wonderful. I know that now I have homework (download that app and start snapping!)

Very helpful! I just have an iPod touch, and the camera isn't so great,
but I'll have to check some of these out!

I am seriously swooning over the above pictures. The paints, your outfits, shots of books and light leaks- stunning.

If only I weren't so cheap so I could buy all these apps. You always have the best photos, girl ;)

Some of those apps sound like such fun! I get so excited about iPhone photos and then ease off a bit, I think now that our days are getting warmer and longer that the iPhone will take more photos!

It's true...Apple products can take some pretty darn good photos. I'm considering getting an iPhone over a DSLR for that reason!

I just got an iphone, so I'm very new at iPhonography. Thank you for the tips! I'll have to try them out!

I am eternally jealous of people with iPhones--I have a Windows Lumia and it is just awful in terms of apps. x

Thanks for sharing. The app that makes photos look like film has great appeal. I love some of the filters on pixlr-o-matic *I think that's what it's called. and some of the frames. They're not ALL good, but there are a few I REALLY like.
