That's Just How Her Face Looks

My siblings and I have this condition I like to call Droopy Eyed Syndrome. It is a plague that will forever make the people around you think you are totally bored by whatever they are doing or saying. I have never considered either of my parents "droopy eyed" but I am assuming we get it from our father. So here is this, an open letter to all people I will ever encounter in my life: I promise I am interested in what you're saying. I really am happy and listening to you. Except for the times when I'm not listening, and for those times, I apologize.

"I doubt she gave you the stink eye, that's just how her face looks."

  1. My Dad's eyes are the same way and I love them. He looks sad when he isn't smiling, but when he does smile his lines around his eyes are completely electric.

  4. This made me laugh! But I can relate on some level.. I have an angry villain face when I listen, think or concentrate.. or when I'm driving.. People think I'm super mad, but I'm not.. I get it from my Ma.. All of my sisters have it too.. Everyone thinks we're mean souls.. But we aren't. We're nice.

  7. *Gasp* I have the same condition!! Seriously, even my husband still asks me sometimes "Wait, what's wrong? Why do you look so bummed?" And I have to remind him "... I'm not, hon. I'm just relaxing my face."

  8. Wait, whats that quote from? It's familiar...

In our family we have something we call "the Farrar gimp eye" which is one of each of our eyes closes a sliight bit in photos. Well in photos I guess means in real life while smiling? I dont know, now that I think about it I dont know if I have ever noticed it in real life. I think we only notice it in pictures. Funny family quirks.

  11. Oh goodness, this made me laugh. I find myself saying the same phrase to people, except about my husband. "that's just his face, he's not actually mad."
