Married Things.

In this 2nd edition of Married Things we are going to talk about "Spending time together as a couple". For the last year, Jordan and I have been living with his parents. During this time there have been few occasions where we really felt like it was just the two of us. Because of this, it has been important for us to go out together and spend time as "Jordan and Bri".

Unless you missed the part where I said we have been living with his parents, you will probably understand that money is tight. We cannot go out and spend all kinds of bucks on dinners and movies and carnival rides...or whatever it is people with money do. Because of this, we have to get creative. The other day we were both tired of being in the house and we decided to be spontaneous. We grabbed our cameras and went exploring. We drove until we found a good place, which wasn't very far (Props to Texas for its nice landscapes). Then we explored and took pictures until the sun went down.

It wasn't fancy or extravagant, but we spent time together. In the end, it will be a lot of little moments like this that will make all the difference in who we are as a couple. I love this man of mine and I am excited for all our adventures together.

  1. I totally get where you're coming from. Though my husband and I live on our own we have to be very creative when it comes to spending time together and finding alternatives to spending much or any money. I love your photos from your adventure. Looks like you guys had a grand time!! :D

  2. I loved this post! We have our own apartment, but money is tight and we still want to get out of those two rooms sometimes! We go on a lot of long walks exploring our small town, and this mild winter has been helpful.

  3. My husband and I do the same thing--we call them our "photo walks." In the summer, we tried to go on one every Sunday but now we just do them whenever we have a spare hour.

If you want to check out how we've done our photo walks, you can check it out on my blog:

  9. This is great. It's tough being a young couple and not having very much money, but you're right, it's the little moments that usually mean the most in the end.
