Hello there. Today's piece is this fun nautical-esque top. How adorable is the collar on this baby?

Make sure to check out Rae's styling over at An Eclectic Heap and stay tuned for next time when we style this blazer.

On a different note, I have a few things to share. My good friend, Gabriel, just came out with an EP. He is really good and the best part is it's free! So go check him out: Ancient Mariner.

The next thing is this last week when we were in San Antonio, Jordan's cousin enlightened us on her amazing artistic talent. She has an etsy shop where she sells handmade play food for American Girl dolls. I was so impressed. It is all so realistic and I just had to share. You may not own a doll yourself but perhaps you have a daughter, niece, cousin (or whatever) that does. Pass her shop along, she is seriously talented: U.S.A. Girl Dolls.

Week of Family.

Well, It's been a little quiet over here lately. Jordan and I spent four days with my family in Denver and quickly spent a day and a half with his family in San Antonio. It was a lot of fun but we are beat. Something happened to me that I never thought would happen. I fell in love...with a puppy.

His name is Gatsby. My family just got him a few weeks ago and Jordan and I adore him. He is a Teddy Bear Yorkie and we are seriously considering getting a puppy like him eventually. If you know me at all you know I am not an animal person, not even a little bit. But this little guy stole my heart. This is so monumental.

Now we are back in Houston and ready to settle back into our daily routine. How was your Thanksgiving?

I am officially one of THOSE girls.

Guys, I have become one of those girls. You know, those girls that buy stuff for children they don't have. Don't get excited, I am not pregnant. I repeat, I am NOT pregnant. I found this estate sale that had the cutest vintage baby clothes. I don't plan on ever actually putting them on one of our babies, they'd be more for decoration but nevertheless the purchase was still made. But can you blame me?

I also scored this beauty.
Ridit-dit-ditdoo. On a separate note, I recently helped Katherine from Thrifted Things change the look of her blog. It's adorable. I'm jealous of it, which is ironic. But I was thinking if anyone wanted me to help them with the layout of their blog, I would be happy to do it for a small fee. When I say small fee, I mean small. It really wouldn't be anything major. Some of you may be asking, why charge? Designing the look of a blog actually takes a lot of time. Although it is something I enjoy and it seems more like play than work, it is still very time consuming. Working with HTML is no walk in the park. With that said, if any of you are interested feel free to email me. I will even work for small presents or strawberries.

Love Languages

This conversation above is actually very typical.
Do you know about Love Languages? Most of you probably do, so I won't give a whole overview on them. But just in case you do not know, here's the scoop... There are five love languages. They are Words of Affirmation, Quality Time, Receiving Gifts, Acts of Service, and Physical Touch. You can find out your love language by taking the assessment here. My love language is Quality Time. Home boy's is Receiving Gifts. (Lucky for him, I'm a pretty awesome gift giver) I have been interested in this whole theory for a few years now. I read the book awhile ago and have really enjoyed learning how to show love to family through their language. This last week I decided to give Jordan lots of gifts and surprises and watch the effects. Guys, this stuff is so legit. Jordan was significantly happier and lovey dovey. (Don't tell him I told you) As the week went on I got more and more excited to have gifts for him. I love making him happy. If your significant other feels love through gifts, I have a few suggestions for you.

1. Write stuff down. Keep a journal or something where you can write down potential gifts for them. I found that making a board specifically for this on Pinterest is genius. You know there are always those times when you're talking about something you wished you had...Well, instead of relying on your brain to remember what your spouse said they wanted, write it down!

2. Focus on their interests. When trying to think of gifts, pay attention to the things they enjoy. For example, we have been really loving Marvel superheroes lately. So I got Jordan a Spiderman shirt. It is awesome and he loves it. He also likes blue colored sodas. Easy. Think about their favorite music, books, tv shows, electronics, food, clothing. You can branch out in a million different directions from there.

3. Try not to always resort to food. Maybe you don't like food as much us so this isn't a problem for you. But we like it, especially the junk food. Because of this, it's important to use the "food gift" sparingly. If your significant other is trying to eat healthier or exercise more, it is discouraging if you give them a plate of brownies. Although it may be delicious, we want to support them.

4. Remember it's the thought that counts. I've learned that my husband enjoys the surprise and that I was thinking of him over the actual gift. Don't stress over what the gift is or feel like you have to spend a lot of money. It means more that you took the time to get something for them. "The perfect gift or gesture shows that you are known, you are cared for, and you are prized."-Gary Chapman

If you haven't read the book, I would recommend it. It has some really amazing stories about couples that have applied this to their lives. It will give you a lot of insight into the ones you love and also yourself.

My Colorado Home.

dress: Pussycat Vintage on etsy; cardigan: Target; shoes: Old Navy; belt: thrifted
Well guys, I miss my family. The last couple weeks have been tough. I hide it pretty well but I am really missing Colorado and familiarity. Being away from family when you're in school is one thing. It's anticipated. Plus you get busy with school and most of the time you don't even have time to think about missing family. Also everyone around you is in the same situation and you can find comfort in them and just enjoy college life. Moving far away from family to start your life and essentially settle down... that is a whole different ball game. Not everyone is in the same situation here. In fact, no one is in the same situation as we are here. It would be an understatement to say it has been an adjustment. Luckily I have a husband that understands and spoils me beyond my deserving. Last night he brewed me up a hot bubble bath, with candles even. I just soaked and listened to Barcelona and let it be okay.

Don't forget to enter the giveaway! Also, make sure you tell me a little about yourself. I'm serious, I wanna know who you are. :)

Well, Hello There.

We have gained quite a few new friends over here. I just wanted to say hello and officially welcome you all: new and old readers. Thank you for all your wonderful words. You are all too kind to me. I wanna get to know you guys a bit. Tell me about yourself. What's your name? Where are you from? What is your favorite book? What is your favorite movie? Anything else you wanna tell me? Go ahead.

I'll go first if that makes you feel better. Okay. My name is Bri. I have a lot of nicknames, though. You can call me whatever you'd like. I am originally from Colorado. Majority of my family is there, but we are currently living in Texas. I have a few favorite books but my number one is To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. My favorite movie is Sabrina, the one with Audrey Hepburn. Something I'd like to tell you? I like to dance. I don't wanna brag but I'm pretty good on the dance floor. And when I say dance floor, I mean the kitchen or living room or anywhere that isn't actually a dance floor. Now you go...
