right now.

Photobucket

Right now I am just happy. I'm happy for my friends and the places they are headed. I'm happy for Jordan and I and the places we are headed. I'm having to remind myself to enjoy these last few weeks with Jordan, but I am just so excited to see my family and be in Colorado again.

I just want to say, that this blog in no way holds the purpose of making others feel bad about themselves. I realize that women are constantly wanting to compare themselves to one another and the institution of blogs has helped in no way to dilute that. But I honestly and truly do not share things on here with the intention to brag about my "perfect life" or how "awesome I am at crafty stuff".

I am not perfect, my life is not perfect: I recently bought a sewing machine, I stink at it! I haven't made a meal plan in like a week, which means I haven't been cooking dinners lately. There are like seven towels laying on the floor of our bedroom right now. seven. I am currently wearing leggings, a t-shirt and no make up and it's 4:30 in the afternoon. I am behind on laundry and I haven't been to the gym in months.

I like style, I like decorating, I like creating, so I blog about it. If that's not your cup of tea, that's okay! Today my mom said to me,"Why is it that women cannot just be happy for each other? We have to turn everything around and make it that we aren't good enough." Just because someone is good at sewing, doesn't mean you have to beat yourself up that you're not. I don't want to stop sharing fun things I am doing on here for fear of making someone else jealous or feel inadequate. Let us just uplift each other in our talents and accomplishments and be happy for one another.

  1. Bri, I like you. I've been wanting to tell you for a while that my husband and I are looking into moving to Austin. Not for a couple years, because we're still in school, and nothing's for sure yet, which is why I haven't said anything. But I have this secret hope that if you move to Austin and I move to Austin, maybe we can be real-life friends.

  3. My newest favorite quote by Jeffrey R. Holland says: "No one of us is less treasured or cherished of God than another. I testify that He loves each of us- insecurities, anxieties, poor self-esteem, and all. He doesn't measure our talents or our looks; He doesn't measure our professions or our possessions. He cheers on every runner, calling out that the race is against sin, not against each other."

Love ya Bri, and love the person you are!
