The Proposal.

Well if you haven't already heard...I'm ENGAGED! I wanted to take some time to write down how Jordan asked because, of course, everyone is asking. I'm not trying to say I'm tired of telling the story, but ...

I need to explain a few things first. I have known that Jordan was going to propose for awhile. I figured it was going to be this week but I wasn't positive. Jordan has also been messing with me for the last several weeks about it all. Every once in awhile he'd grab my hand and mess with my ring finger, smile and make jokes about the fact that I don't know what my ring looks like yet and all that kind of stuff. So, point is, I knew it was coming and I was used to him joking about it.

So, for the story:

Jordan was very smart in realizing that planning some elaborate proposal wouldn't work because if he ever said anything like, "We're going out tonight" I would know that the proposal was coming. So he decided his best bet was to make it a complete surprise and do it at a time I wouldn't be expecting it at all. And that he did, my friends.

Wednesday night, we were just hanging out at my apartment. There had been quite a few people over just talking and stuff but after a little while everyone just left and found other things to do. At the time I didn't think it was weird but looking back I realize it was not normal. So it was just Jordan and I.

Side note: I am an insomniac and I never get enough sleep. For some reason even when I do get a full nights sleep I am still really exhausted all the time. I should really find out why, but that's besides the point.

I was super tired and I was falling asleep on my couch. Jordan was next to me and he was super antsy and couldn't sit still. He kept bringing up things from when we first started dating and kind of reminiscing about us and all that. I was listening but fell asleep. Jordan then woke me up awhile later and said, "I'm just gonna go and let you sleep." He said it was a little after eleven and I didn't protest because I was so exhausted. I stood up to give him a hug goodbye. I was standing in the middle of my living room with my eyes closed because I didn't want to lose the little sleep I had left and completely wake up. Jordan started laughing at me and was taking so long to leave. I didn't understand why he wouldn't just leave. haha. He asked me to come over and hug him. I did and he said, "Bri..." and grabbed my hands, specifically my ring finger. (This is where the above explanation comes in) I thought because Jordan knew I was so tired he thought it'd be funny to mess with me about the ring thing again like he'd been doing for weeks. So as he was grabbing my hand I said, "Oh, you're not doing it right now!" I honestly thought he was just playing a trick on me. Then he hugged me after I said that and I could tell he was really nervous. That's when I realized something was going on. I looked at him and said, "I'm sorry, what were you going to say?" It took him a second to get back on his horse I had totally pushed him off of. Then he got on one knee and asked me if I would marry him. I had to open my eyes super wide to really know if it was real, cause let's be honest I was still asleep. I didn't really believe it was happening until I saw the ring. It is beautiful and perfect. Obviously, I said yes. He proposed in the same spot we had our first kiss. It was very sweet. Even though I feel bad for scaring him by my original comment, I think it was the perfect way for it all to go. It is so us and I love that.

I am so in love with Jordan and equally excited to start our life together. He is so wonderful to me and could not make me happier. Thank you family and friends that have been so supportive, even this far. You are all amazing and Jordan and I really appreciate telling everyone and receiving happy responses to it all.
